NJFB Women's Committee November 17 23 marks National FarmCity Week, a time to observe and celebrate the successful partnerships between rural and urban residents who make our food and fiber system the envy of the world. These partners farmers, ranchers, factory workers, truck drivers, cashiers, waitresses, and others account for more than 22 million American jobs. To celebrate this week, the NJFB Womens Committee conducted a food drive to benefit our urban neighbors at the Ronald McDonald House in Camden, NJ. At the recent NJFB convention alone, over $2300 was raised for this worthy cause. Donations are still being accepted ($8.00 sponsors one holiday meal) and may be mailed to NJFB (attn. C. Gaskill). The NJFB Women's Committee also conducts a Farm-City Tour, where members of the committee bring their non-farm friends and neighbors on a day-long farm tour. Farm-City Tour Committee: |
