Thomas F. Byrne

Tom and his wife Kathy live in Monroe Township, Middlesex County.  Tom and his brother started farming in 1975, and in 1980 established Byrne Brothers Farm, raising corn, soybeans and livestock.  The current operation has shifted to hay and straw production.

Tom graduated from Delaware Valley College in Doylestown, PA in 1974 with a B.S. in Animal Husbandry.

Tom has been a member of the Middlesex County Board of Agriculture since 1976.  Tom began his active participation with New Jersey Farm Bureau as a member of the Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee serving as chairman in 1977.  Tom served as a county director before being elected 2nd Vice President in 2002.  Tom was appointed 1st Vice President by the NJFB Board of Directors in May 2005.

Tom has also been active in several other organizations and activities including: serving as a life member of the New Jersey State Fireman's Association; serving as a member, assistant chief and chief of the Applegarth Volunteer Engine Company; serving as a trustee of the Middlesex County Fair Association; serving as a member of the Monroe Township Environmental Commission; serving as a member of the New Jersey Agriculture Society; and achieving the Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout Award.
